The Wallace B. Chung and Madeline H. Chung Collection in UBC’s Open Collections is home to many different objects from the early and mid-twentieth century. Many of these items are related to the Canadian Pacific Company and are from the steam ships, hotels, trains, and planes that took many passengers all over Canada and beyond. They are interesting as antiques and many of the items have beautiful paintings on them, or are otherwise commemorative of a vehicle or place belonging to the Canadian Pacific Company. Most of the items are fairly well preserved and have retained the colour on the paint and are clearly legible. There are more than eighty items featured in this blog post, and they have been separated into categories to help improve the browsing experience. The first is the Kitchenware and Dishes section, which is all of the items that are related to serving meals and eating. The next is the Food Containers group, which are things like jars and spice tins. After that are the Smoking objects with such things as ashtrays and cigarette cases. Then, there are the Game items like playing cards and a Mahjong set. Finally, is the Household and personal objects which are items such as a cane, a clock, and an inkwell set. Please enjoy browsing the items!
